• Balmain Power Station – A private power station which once serviced the electricity needs of the local area. Demolished in 1994 to make way for apartments.
• Balmain Reservoir – An underground reservoir located beneath Gladstone Park.
• Lever Brothers Factory – A large soap factory that was much a part of the Balmain landscape from 1895 until it was demolished for apartments in 1996.
• Balmain Sailing Club – Located in nearby Birchgrove and home to the annual Balmain Regatta.
• Balmain Pubs – Balmain is home to many famous drinking establishments.

Public Transport
Trains
1. Increase the staffing at Citylink train stations, so that people requiring staff assistance entering and exiting trains can access trains at all times of the day.
2. Update the “Network Map’ on the CityLink website every 6 months with access improvements.
3. Increase the number of accessible Countrylink train stations and interchanges, particularly on the Southern Line.
Buses
1. Private bus operators to comply with requirements of the NSW Ministry of Transport.
2. Ensure that Sydney Buses comply with bus timetables.
Taxis
1. Replace the existing regular fleet of 6,000 vehicles with universal accessible taxis, at the rate of 600 per year over 10 years, similarly to the ‘Londoncab’ already available in the United Kingdom.
2. Encourage taxi networks in country NSW to increase the number of taxis that provide wheelchair access,

1. Implement access improvements to wharves on the following ferry routes:
